Professional Bio

Andrew “Dru” J. Ryan is a top-notch instructional designer and consultant with a broad and diverse background in education and information technology. 

Professionally, he spent over 20 years in information technology and aviation industries, including a role on Wall St with JP Morgan/Chase in their technology unit to research projects with Boeing, IBM, Lockheed Martin, the FAA and NASA.  He currently works in the Technology Education for a major law firm.

Dru has served as an adjunct professor with George Mason University and the University of the District of Columbia.    Additionally, he has worked with the University of Maryland’s Gear-Up Program.

Dru holds a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering with a concentration in Computer-based Systems from George Mason University and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Binghamton University.  He has published several scholarly articles in the fields of aviation, knowledge management, and group decision-making.  He has been quoted by, among others, the Washington Post, Washington Times, Dallas Fort Worth Star Telegram, wired.com, Chief Learning Officer, Black Engineer magazine and numerous websites and blogs.  Dru has also presented at numerous conferences and lectured at colleges and universities across North America and is a senior judge for both Brandon Hall’s and the Learning Elite’s annual workplace learning awards.
